Music stars around the world are reaching out to their fans via social media during the coronavirus lockdown, streaming live from their homes via LiveU live video streaming technology. Leading artists are using the time to support causes close to their hearts through inspirational online fundraising campaigns. We’re delighted to be part of the process, helping to keep people’s spirits up with music during this difficult period.
In the Philippines this week, Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez led online fundraising efforts organized by ABS-CBN, the country’s largest media conglomerate.
Regine Velasquez’s birthday concert was for Bantay Bata 163, a child welfare program launched in 1997 by the ABS-CBN Foundation to protect disadvantaged and at-risk children. The production used two LiveU LU600 HEVC units, with the audio and video synched by the production team. Due to the lockdown restrictions, Mr. Ogle Alcasid, the singer’s husband, helped to set up the units in their home. The concert received an amazing response, engaging thousands of fans with the highest video and sound quality and generating donations of over 4.2 million pesos (over $80,000).
