The Challenge

This year marked the 60th anniversary of the prestigious Queen’s Cup, which has been sponsored by Cartier since 2012. Taking place in the dramatic Windsor Park, with multiple polo grounds, the event had to occur without fans due to social distancing requirements. And due to travel restrictions, most of the production team could not travel to the UK for the event.

The Solution

South African-based company, Live Production Tech partnered with Polocam to create a multi-camera live streamed event with the LiveU Remote Production workflow at the heart of the solution. The production included four cameras feeding simultaneously into the new LU800 and two additional LU600s in each endzone. All video feeds were streamed back to the production studio in South Africa, allowing the onsite team to be fewer and nimbler to cover all the action.

"Having covered this tournament for the last decade, we were really struggling this year without the ability to fly to the UK or have more staff on site. LiveU provided us with the bonded streaming technology to broadcast this event, while setting the new model for how to move forward with other events around the world.”
