German Federal Election

The 2021 German federal election is expected to be held on 26 September 2021 to elect the 20th Bundestag. On the same day, state elections will be held as well: Berlin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Thuringia will elect their respective state parliaments. Incumbent Chancellor Angela Merkel will retire after the election.
