The Magic of the Summer Games: Live from Paris

The City of Lights is abuzz with the fever of the Summer Games, and LiveU is right in the heart of the action! As we navigate the bustling streets of Paris, it’s impossible not to feel the excitement in the air!

Our team has set up shop across the city in three locations, from the International Broadcast Center to our very own LiveU Hub in central Paris. We’re like the behind-the-scenes athletes of broadcasting, working 24/7 to keep the games streaming smoothly to viewers around the world. Over 1,000 LiveU units are in action in Paris, both rented for the event and our customers’ using their own units.

It’s been quite the journey since our debut at the 2008 Beijing Games. Now, we’re not just handling fixed stand-up positions but also dynamic live productions – capturing everything from boat rides on the Seine during the opening ceremony to inside scoops from the athletes’ camps, providing back-up for the main competitions and broadcasting live from the venues. Customers consistently choose our solutions for their reliability, cost-efficiency, flexibility and ease of use as well as many other benefits!

Speaking of the opening ceremony, picture this: TV crews with LiveU units lined up along the Seine, ready to broadcast the spectacle to the world. Rain or shine (and we’ve had plenty of both!), our equipment hasn’t missed a beat. The best part? Seeing our units capture amazing moments all over Paris. It’s like a game of spot-the-LiveU as we walk around the city. And hearing directly from broadcasters about how we’re making their lives easier? That’s our gold medal moment right there.

For over a year, we’ve been planning this project and it’s truly a global team effort across all the continents with our on-site and remote teams providing 24/7 support throughout the tournament. We’re working closely together to keep our customers happy with a multilingual crew of more than 10 technical engineers and event managers on-the-ground in Paris. With three collection points located within Paris, we have saved customers the hassle of bringing their own equipment from abroad (e.g. dealing with customs). Our rental packages provide everything needed for medal-worthy live coverage, including data and personal support.
