TVA Canada simplifies content aggregation with LiveU and SES

Background
The LIV Golf League’s mission is to build on and complement the existing format of professional golf and take it to new levels of excitement and engagement with generations of fans. With events across the world, the LIV Golf League brings the game – and those who love to play and watch it – to new places. TVA Canada, Quebec’s largest TV broadcaster, acquired the rights to broadcast LIV Golf-produced tournament content, which includes 12 teams, 48 players, no cuts, and no shotgun starts. The premier league is a fan favorite across the globe, so it was crucial to deliver this content to viewers at home.
The Challenge
Sports organizations are increasingly tasked with creating more content with smaller budgets, which means they need to find ways to aggregate more content with less resources. With the goal of increasing content and expanding its reach, TVA wanted an affordable and streamlined method to deliver popular sporting events including the LIV Golf League to the widest audience.
The Solution
LiveU and SES have teamed up to aggregate premium content for TVA. SES has access to the LIV Golf tournament feeds and thousands of other live sporting events, which enabled TVA to leverage LiveU Matrix, LiveU’s IP distribution service, to take the content via downlink over IP. TVA receives several different feeds from different sources via LiveU Matrix and decides which to take and broadcast to its audiences. This collaboration between LiveU and SES gives rights-holding broadcasters accessibility to thousands of live sports events to choose from, with the freedom to add or remove different content.
The turnkey solution provides opportunities to reduce complexity and gain access to increased amounts of content from within LiveU Matrix. The rights-holding customer only needs a LiveU server to receive the feeds via LiveU Matrix and has access to their content in a very simple and easy way.
