At LiveU we’re all buzzing with excitement about this year’s NAB display, because, let’s face it, trade shows are all about showing off, and with the LU500 making successful debuts at events like Super Bowl XVIII and the Sochi Winter Olympics, and LiveU Central getting ground-breaking new features, we’ve got a lot to flaunt.
Now we know that despite all of our formal talk about ingenuity and innovation, the NAB Show is more or less a giant toy store for broadcasters, so here’s a preview of what you can come play with at booth #SU8513:
Naturally, we’ll be demonstrating the newly available LU500. This compact unit has proven to be our strongest yet, getting between 5000 and 7500 kbps uplink at the Sochi Olympic Games. With that kind of power, it has become almost impossible to distinguish between the footage from this mighty 2.2 lb (1 kg) unit and a 30,000 lb (13,600 kg) satellite truck.
We’ll also be showcasing some of the coolest features of LiveU Central. The latest update of the central management system includes a geo-location feature that lets you track and monitor your units on an interactive map interface and to monitor the cellular signals in the area. It also includes the LiveU Matrix for real-time video preview, drag-and-drop video routing and the ability to manage multiple incoming feeds.
Also on show will be the LU-Smart mobile app and the SmartGRIP monopod. The LU-Smart proved itself this year when it helped NBC 4 Los Angeles win one of their 11 Golden Mike Awards for Best Spot Reporting. The team at NBC 4 was able to continue coverage of the Springs Fire in Southern California, even after they lost use of their live truck.
In the true spirit of going live anywhere, all of our NAB visitors can check out the Mobile Newsgathering Truck at our outdoor booth #OE825. This truck goes far beyond your standard SNG vehicle, not only is the truck equipped with a KA-Band Satellite, but it is also outfitted with our vehicle-mounted LiveU Xtender and LU700-SV field unit. This revolutionary new hybrid vehicle is able to send resilient broadcasts while on the move and from just about any location, however remote.
Print out our guest pass and get free admission to the show (and enter the LiveU Raffle). If you want to talk to us one-on-one you can schedule a meeting here.
